Mitolo GAM Shiraz
The G.A.M. Shiraz comes from the Lopresti vineyard, and more specifically, the Chinese Block, which is located at the southern end of McLaren Vale east of the coastal town of Port Willunga. The soil here is heavy grey loam mixed with black Biscay clay and sits above ancient Gnaltinga formation clay. This combination provides ideal conditions for growing fruit of intensity and balance. The maritime climate here is dry and warm, with sunny days in the growing season and a fresh sea breeze that cools the air overnight. It is perfumed with lifted blue fruits, red berry compote, creamy nuances, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is plush and elegant, showing satsuma plum, ripe raspberry, and blueberry framed by silky tannins with fine texture. Delicate flickers of fresh herbs add savoury elements to the wine. It is medium-to-full-bodied with great depth but remains poised and balanced by vibrant acidity for an effortlessly moreish finish.
