Metala White Label Shiraz Cabernet
A blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit was harvested in the early morning, cool to retain its natural acidity. A portion of the Cabernet Sauvignon was aged in seasoned French oak barriques, while a portion of the Shiraz was aged in French and American hogsheads and barriques, each for around 12-13 months. On the nose is an abundance of sweet plums, ripe blackberries and red currants with hints of jubes and red liquorice rounding out the palate. The palate is both generous and elegant, with mouth-filling, sweet, Cabernet-driven dark fruits, primarily blackberries, and a touch of white pepper that is characteristic of this Langhorne Creek single vineyard. The tannins are firm, with lovely natural acidity which balances well with the fruit sweetness.
