Koumozo ‘Ouzo' is a refined spirit with aniseed flavours distilled in a small copper still made in the central highlands of Tasmania at Miena.  Local botanicals are used to make a refined smooth spirit, unlike any other Ouzo in the world. It's the sophisticated reinvention of the cultural drink of Greece which can be enjoyed and savoured on its own, or with great Mediterranean dishes. By a stroke of luck, the distillery is situated at a latitude of 41.989 degrees South and it was thus settled that this would be the ABV of the Ouzo. At 1,044 metres altitude, the distillery is just over 4.5 metres above the full supply level of the Great Lake (1,039.37 metres). This is Tasmania's highest-altitude distillery.
