Cherubino Great Southern Riesling
The Cherubino story dates back to the late 1800's. Larry's wife Edwina is a fourth-generation Western Australian. Her ancestors, the Egerton-Warburton's, migrated from England and settled in Frankland River in the mid 1800's. Not just settlement pioneers, they planted the first vines on the banks of the river in 1875. Equal thirds of Frankland River, Porongurup and Mount Barker fruit. Piercing intensity on the palate which spears the tongue with acid, citrus fruit and blossom. It then glides over the rest of the mouth leaving bursts of flavour in its wake. Stopping short of fearsome (only just) this has latent power and structure to spare. It will evolve for decades in your cellar. - Erin Larkin, 12 April 2021, Halliday Wine Companion, 96 Points (on 2021 vintage)
