Galway Pipe Grand Tawny 12-year-old Port is named after Sir Henry Galway, the Governor of South Australia from 1914 to 1920. Governor Galway was a frequent visitor to the winery, and on each visit, he would conduct a tasting of the finest "pipes" (500L barrels) of the port. Whichever pipe was most to his liking was inscribed as "Galway's Pipe", and that particular blend was used exclusively at Government House.
