Amongst the great wines of Puglia, the Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria of the Cantine San Marzano is a pure Primitivo, which appears with a deep ruby red in the glass. The nose reveals aromas of prunes, cherry jam and sweet spices such as cloves, cinnamon and vanilla. On the palate, the Sessantanni is well structured, full and fleshy with a wonderfully integrated acidity and soft yet characteristic tannins. In the impressively long finish of this red wine, berry and fruit aromas, spicy and tobacco notes come to the fore again.
